Sora x Riku Ch.5

The fire was lit and it roared to life, radiating heat through the cave. It made the boys feel much better. Sora took off his shirt to dry, it was making him cold. His arms wrapped around himself to keep warm. Sora glanced at Riku, to see if he was ok. He seemed to be but. . . something seemed wrong. Riku was staring into the fire, eyes blank not really seeing anything.

Sora stared deeper into the pools of aqua, they WERE blank. As if lost in thought. Sora spoke up. "Hey riku," No reply. This made Sora uncomfortable. He tried again. "Hey Riku!" Still no reply.

Sora seemed a bit hurt, was he ignoring him? Sora moved next to Riku and nudged his shoulder. "RIKU!!"

Riku slumped over onto Sora's lap limply, eyes closed. He was sleeping. Sora felt much better, although he studied Riku carefully. His face looked worn, the lines under his eyes proved he was exhausted. Sora felt a wave of sympathy crash over him, and a little guilt. He kept Riku there unmoving, so he could sleep.

There it was again, that uncontrollable beating of his heart.

His eyes were half closed, Sora's cheeks began to feel warm. Blushing maybe? His fingers traced lightly on Riku's face. Riku had long eyelashes for a guy, his mouth was traced out with perfect thin lips. His hair lightly tickled Sora's leg, long silver and soft.

And Sora couldn't deny him any longer.

He did love him, from the bottom of his heart.

Sora layed his face gently on Riku's head. He lightly kissed his cheek and inhaled a little on the scent of his hair. It smelled of sea salt and a faint trace of shampoo. Sora knew once he woke up he would have to tell Riku how he felt. Even if he tried hiding it Sora's face was an open book and anyone can read his emotions. (One thing he hates about himself) So Sora laid his head back against the wall and closed his eyes.

"In the morning i tell him, in the morning i. . tell. . him" He drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

Sora awoke the next morning, it was a bit cold but not as bad. The fire was still there, but not as warm as yesterday. Sora blinked a few times, then his eyes widened to find himself lying on the floor. He must have slid off the wall in the middle of the night. Then he noticed Riku, Riku's arms were around him as Sora's arms were wrapped around his waist.

Sora blushed, one because of how close they were, and two because Sora's face was right in Riku's chest. It was smooth and muscular. Sora couldn't help but stare.

He broke his attention carefully to study Riku's face again. The same beautiful face he studied last night only without the exhaust lines. Sora inched up close to Riku's face. He didn't care what happened, he was going to do this anyway. Sora touched Riku's face lightly with his fingertips.

He bent his face and touched his lips to RIku's

A strange feeling happened when he kissed Riku, a small pressure was applied back to the kiss. Sora pulled away thinking he imagined things. He smiled warmly to himself. He liked the feeling of Riku's lips. Sora murmured against Riku's soft skin on his shoulder "I love you. . . . Riku"

". .. I love you too Sora"

Sora's eyes opened wide and when they did they were staring into beautiful smoldering aqua ones. . . .
